Part-Time Assistant Teacher
The Westfield Area YMCA is looking for a part-time Assistant Teacher to join our team!
Candidates must be energetic and highly motivated with strong communication skills.
The Assistant Teacher works together with the Head Teacher while implementing planned activities and curriculum to promote youth development, social responsibility and healthy living. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible with their schedule, has experience working with children (2.5 years old - kindergarten) and has a genuine interest in teaching/education.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting Teacher with daily classroom activities
- Ability to follow instructions and provide support
- Aiding in preparing materials for lessons
- Supervising and interacting with children
- Creating a nurturing and warm environment
Available shift:
Monday - Friday 2:30pm/3:00pm to 5:30pm
Pay: $17.00-$20.00, commensurate with education and experience

Requirements:
- CDA; or AA Degree in a related field; or HS degree and 1 year experience working with children
- Strong communication skills required
- Creativity, initiative and flexibility are essential
