Reading Interventionist

READING INTERVENTIONIST POSITION

Job Description:

* Provide targeted intervention to small groups of struggling readers

* Use formal and/or informal testing as diagnostic instruments to inform instruction

* Participate in assessment and identification of students for reading intervention

* Maintain regular communication with classroom teachers about student progress and instructional plans

* Meet regularly with the Literacy Specialist to discuss students progress and evaluate effectiveness of instructional strategies

* Attend professional development organized by the Curriculum Coordinator

* Prepare feedback for meetings when requested and write end of year reports to summarize student progress

* Assist in the administration of the MCAS individually or in small groups

Details:

* Workday 25 hours per week

* 166 day work year

* 15 sick days/ 2 personal days

* Compensation Range:
Step 1 $ 23.28/hr. to Step 8 $ 38.71/hr.

* Annual stipend of $1,500.00 for a Masters degree

* Annual stipend of $1,800.00 for Masters & Certification
* $800.00 course reimbursement OR $400.00 conference reimbursement per year
