Systems Administrator, Unix/Linux, Windows Server
Raytheon Advance Products Solution (APS) is seeking a proactive Information Systems Security Administrator who will support and maintain both virtual and physical desktop environments across Windows and Linux systems, perform routine maintenance such as security updates and patching, and manage hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycle. This on‑site role will provide user training, create documentation, administer accounts and permissions, and monitor system performance to keep operations running smoothly.
WhatYou Will Do
- Deliver prompt technical support across in‑person, phone, and electronic channels while maintaining virtual and physical desktop environments on Windows and Linux systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including antivirus updates, patching, security self‑reviews, and proactive monitoring/troubleshooting of servers, software, and hardware.
- Manage hardware and software assets with accurate inventory control, lifecycle tracking, and administration of user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, standard work instructions, and provide user training to support consistent processes and strong end‑user understanding.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and Information Systems Security Engineers to deploy and validate new IT and security solutions, contributing effectively in Agile (Scrum) environments and resolving complex technical issues independently within defined priorities and timelines.
- University Degree or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in system administration, desktop support, or similar IT infrastructure roles.
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems, including virtual and physical desktop environments.
- CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent certification) within 90 days of employment.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to train and support end‑users.
- Experience with the Atlassian toolset (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
- Software Engineering & Development support experience.

Relocation assistance not available. This is an on‑site position located in Westford, MA. The salary range is $86,800 – $165,200 annually.
