Material Handler II
Location:
Westford, MA Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay Rate: $20.00 – $22.00/hour (W2)
The Material Handler II is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control, managing material flow, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing and assembly operations. This role performs inventory transactions, material movements, and ERP system activities while following established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform accurate physical and system-based material movements to support production requirements.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and inventory control activities.
- Generate and process work orders using an ERP system.
- Complete work order receipts and update inventory records accurately.
- Coordinate the movement and availability of materials throughout manufacturing and assembly areas.
- Support production teams by ensuring materials are delivered on time and according to operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve workflow and operational efficiency.
- Handle approved chemicals when required, following all safety procedures and training guidelines.
- Support company quality initiatives, including compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Follow all company policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain professional communication and positive working relationships with employees, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Work overtime as needed to meet business and production requirements.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of inventory control or material handling experience.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, or similar industry) preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions and work order processing preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with quality standards.
