The Project Architect is responsible for leading architectural projects through all phases, from concept through construction administration. This role balances technical leadership, team coordination, and client engagement. The Project Architect works closely with the, Studio Director, consultants, and internal teams to ensure projects meet Visioneering Studios Architecture standards for design quality, technical rigor, budget, and schedule.
This position requires strong professional judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining design intent and documentation excellence.
Responsibilities:- Lead architectural projects through all phases including Programming, Master Planning, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
- Execute projects in alignment with VSA standards, processes, and QA QC requirements.
- Coordinate architectural deliverables with consultants including structural, civil, MEP, lighting, acoustical, and specialty disciplines.
- Work closely with the Studio Driector to ensure alignment with project vision, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage project documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and constructability.
- Support design-build coordination with Visioneering Studios Construction on integrated delivery projects.
- Ensure proper review of work at each phase with the Studio Director and Managing Principal.
- Client and Partner Engagement.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day client coordination.
- Support client meetings, presentations, and milestone reviews.
- Participate in entitlement processes, jurisdictional reviews, and agency coordination.
- Collaborate with Job Captains, Designers, and other Visioneers across studios.
- Maintain strong working relationships with partners, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Actively participate in cultivating VSA culture and shared standards.
- Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, ASIs, and field observations.
- Collaborate with construction teams to protect design intent and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain organized project records including correspondence, meeting notes, and decisions.
- BIM & CAD Tools:
- Autodesk Revit(required)
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Navisworks
- Project Collaboration & Management:
Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bluebeam - Graphic & Documentation Tools:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional degree in Architecture.
- 10+ years of architectural experience
- Licensed Architect and/or NCARB Certification (preferred)
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- Commercial, Civic, Healthcare
- K–12 / DSA Education
- Religious / Cultural institutions
- Alignment with Visioneering’s mission and values.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lead while remaining collaborative and team-oriented.
- High level of accountability and follow-through.
- Comfort balancing creative design with technical execution.
- Professional judgment and discretion.
