Studio Director

Lead our design team and oversee the technical and creative execution of projects from early design through construction. This role is equal parts design leadership, technical oversight, and project coordination, working closely with the Design Director, engineers, clients, and construction partners to keep projects moving efficiently and aligned with client expectations.

The Studio Director will manage in-house and remote designers, guide design direction, review drawings and shop drawings, coordinate engineering efforts, and ensure milestones, schedules, and deliverables are met with a high level of quality and consistency.

• Lead and manage GPI designers: set priorities, solve problems, and keep projects on schedule
• Meet daily with the Design Director to review progress, issues, and team workload
• Oversee and support remote designers: review and redline drawings
• Create stone layouts, client renderings, and fabrication cutting diagrams
• Initiate and manage engineering engagement; review and approve proposals
• Coordinate with engineers to troubleshoot issues and maintain design intent
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and manage expectations
• Manage project schedules and Gantt charts: assign and track tasks
• Attend new project kickoff calls
• Establish and communicate design and engineering milestones
• Review and redline shop drawings for quality, accuracy, and buildability
• Review and respond to RFIs: issue clarifications as needed

• Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture
• 10+ years experience in the field of design/architecture/construction/interiors
• Extensive experience reading and generating detailed shop drawings and/or construction documents
• Knowledge of CAD and/or Revit
• Experience creating and managing project schedules
• Experience managing team of designers, both in office and remotely
