Salary: $115 a day

We're building a substitute teacher pool for our entire network. You only need to apply once — after you apply, we'll work with you to assign you to the campus that's most convenient based on where you live. Whether you're near Akron, Brecksville, Lyndhurst, or Westlake, there's likely a spot for you close to home.
About the RoleAs a substitute teacher, you'll help create a classroom environment where students can grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. You'll work with in our co-teach model, supporting two intervention specialists who lead the classroom, and help carry out instruction in line with Julie Billiart School and Diocese of Cleveland policies.
Responsibilities- Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning, using varied materials and resources
- Implement lesson plans and schemes of work created by the classroom teacher
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for learning activities
- Prepare the classroom for daily activities
- Select instructional resources and methods — including relevant technology — to meet students' varying needs
- Instruct and monitor students' use of learning materials and equipment
- Assign and give feedback on student work
- Maintain accurate records of student progress
- Other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field
- Professional certification or license preferred
- Skilled in differentiated instruction
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable communicating with parents and colleagues
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to think on your feet
- Enthusiastic, driven, and self-motivated
