SUMMARYProvides comprehensive support and tracking for math students from the point of placement through completion of college‑level math. Responsible for outreach, communications, and ongoing coaching to provide a human connection for students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provide case management support from point of placement through completion of college‑level math
- Facilitate non‑credit seminars and/or small group support for math remediation
- Monitor student performance, using various tools including online adaptive learning software, tutoring databases, and other college systems
- Coordinate with Enrollment Management team for college‑wide case management, outreach, and student progress tracking
- Compile data and present reports on student progress
- Recommend and refine processes to support students in math remediation
- Support students with technical components of creating accounts to access online tools
- Guide students as they navigate through online resources to provide support in preparation for placement testing
- Collaborate with math faculty to support students within and outside the traditional and non‑traditional classroom
- Collaborate with deans, Student Affairs, Campus Success Specialists, and Counseling faculty to provide individualized support and services to math students
- Plan and implement new targeted strategies for math students;
May facilitate workshops in multiple formats and modes - Collaborate with Student and Academic Affairs colleagues to streamline and deliver pre‑enrollment placement testing and related processes
- May support the Assistant Dean/Director in management of math tutoring spaces
- Work collaboratively with student peer tutors/coaches
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of three years of demonstrated relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
- Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem‑solving methods in a variety of situations
SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Possess basic knowledge of fundamental math coaching concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
- Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Demonstrated creative thinker and a problem‑solver
- Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail
- Possess basic‑level project management skills
- Possess intermediate‑level skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality
- Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of students and the community

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated college teaching experience and/or background in math
- Demonstrated experience using online learning systems, such as ALEKS, ALEKS PPL, Pearson, and Blackboard
- Demonstrated experience working at a community college
- Demonstrated experience working with students in development math
- Demonstrated experience/expertise working with students with learning disabilities or special education
- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Set‑Rate Non‑Bargaining Part‑Time Position: This is a Part‑Time Non‑Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $20.91 per hour.
