Work Schedule: Flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends). Schedule varies based on the needs of the department. Supervisor will work with selected candidate to set a schedule designed to support the demands of the department.
Job DescriptionSUMMARY
Tutor Module 5:
Information Technology (IT) Tutor works directly with students, either one-on-one or in small group sessions, aiming to foster independent learning and help students achieve their academic goals.

Other tutoring topics covered include: C family programming languages (Java, C++, Perl), basic programming algorithm structures, data types, syntax, program development, and execution of Microsoft and major platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Support the department’s goal of providing students with supplemental academic support by providing one-on-one and small group tutoring support, subject-specific content strategies, and direct assistance with equipment and learning materials.
- Conduct “class visits” and assist with publicizing the College’s tutoring services.
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and according to stated deadlines.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of departmental instructional materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience/Training
- Education consistent with the department needs and minimum of an associate’s degree in a related field of study.

- Ability to multitask with varying levels of students and subject material.
- Ability to communicate with faculty regarding expectations of students, assignments, attendance at tutoring sessions and work completed.

- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books.
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

Note:
This is a Part-Time Non‑Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $18.21 per hour.
If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1‑40‑01‑1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
