Job Description:Summary
Role Overview :
Tops Peer Influencers are dedicated student leaders committed to promoting health and well-being among their peers at Tri-C. These student leaders, trained and certified through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators’ (NASPA) Certified Peer Educator (CPE) program, play acrucial role in guiding students towards resources and support while facilitating activities that enhance health awareness and holistic well-being.
The role emphasizes leadership, education, and positive impact, but does not involve providing medical or mental health counseling.
- Training:
Complete 12-hour CPE Training and 2-hour QPR Suicide Prevention Training (paid trainings). - Peer Support:
Maintain a presence on campus, serving as a resource and referral point for peers. - Social Media:
Manage a social media presence to share educational content and direct students to resources. - Committee Involvement:
Participate in the Tri-C Help Is Here weekly “Tops Peer Influencer Committee” meetings to debrief and plan programming and messages, assist with material review and present gathered student feedback. - Programming & Initiatives:
Help plan and execute health and wellness programs and events, including Student Involvement Fairs, Success Week, and Wellness Fest. - Advertising:
Support the promotion of events and programs through various means. - Video Production:
Assist in creating promotional health-related video content for the HIH website, App, and other platforms. - Presentation Delivery:
Present on health and wellness resources and topics at various campus events, student groups, and academic classes. - Wellness Wednesdays & Tabling:
Plan and implement weekly health and wellness events to engage the Tri-C community.
- Currently registered and enrolled as a Tri-C student with a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA.
- Interest in wellness education and prevention programming.
- Good academic and behavioral standing with the College.
- Positive,energetic, and professional demeanor.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability tomodel appropriate behavior, present oneself professionally, maintain confidentiality, and work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment and aligning with Tri-C’s mission andvalues.
- Preferred:
Interest or experience in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Healthcare, Education, or related fields.
Note:
Target salary $14.56
If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
