Senior Plant Finance Manager (Manufacturing)

Travel: up to 30%
Compensation: $125K–$140K base + bonus
Position OverviewWe’re partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to add a Senior Plant Finance Manager to support a complex, multi-site operation. This role serves as the financial lead for the plant, acting as a key business partner to operations and leadership while also maintaining a strong connection to corporate finance. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role ideal for someone who thrives in a lean, fast‑paced environment and enjoys owning the full spectrum of plant finance.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage the financial performance of the plant, including cost of goods sold, inventory, and manufacturing variances
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning in partnership with plant leadership
- Perform and present variance analysis (labor, overhead, material, and pricing) with clear insights and recommendations
- Oversee month‑end close activities, including inventory reconciliation, WIP analysis, and reporting deliverables
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain to drive business decisions and cost improvements
- Manage CAPEX planning, tracking, and ROI analysis
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance around inventory, fixed assets, and plant financial processes
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives in collaboration with plant leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, helping influence operational and financial decisions
- True “one‑person show” plant finance lead with strong autonomy and ownership
- Direct seat at the leadership table, partnering closely with plant leadership
- Exposure to a complex, multi‑site manufacturing environment

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including manufacturing
- Experience with plant finance, cost accounting, and variance analysis
- Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close
- Experience working in an ERP system (SAP strongly preferred)
- Comfortable in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines
- Confident communicator who can influence plant leadership and push back when needed
- Highly organized and able to prioritize in a deadline‑driven environment
- Self‑starter who thrives with ownership and autonomy
- Strong business partner mindset with the ability to connect financials to operations
