Medical Assistant – Pediatrics

• Perform screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information
• Identify medication changes and update allergy information
• Collect specimens and perform tests
• Document patient care
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas
• Perform administrative and clerical duties including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration
• Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff
• Support medication management, patient monitoring, clinical tasks, compliance and coordination with interdisciplinary teams
• Work Monday through Thursday between 7:00am and 8:00pm, Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm, and weekends between 8:00am and 12:00pm

• Graduate from an approved medical assisting program OR military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
• Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross; if not held, must obtain during the new hire period
• Medical Assisting certification preferred
• Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship preferred
• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting
• Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision
• Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
• Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Must comply with annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption
• Employment offers followed by controlled-substance testing

Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, including screenings, treatments, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with health standards and effective communication within interdisciplinary teams. Holds relevant certifications and possesses the manual dexterity required for clinical tasks and office equipment operation.
