Instructor, Information Technology
Instructs and develops curriculum for courses within the Information Technology Center of Excellence. Essential functions include:
- Instructs and develops curriculum for courses within the Information Technology function in Tri-C's Workforce and Community Economic Development (WCED).
- Subject matter experts needed in all of the following areas:
- Microsoft Office 2016 or newer
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 or newer
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript jQuery
- AJAX and JSON
- C# (.NET)
- Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
- ASP.NET
- Windows Power Shell
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
- CEH Certified Trainer
- CISSP Certified Trainer
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Windows or Linux Server Administration
- IBM AI or Blockchain
- Microsoft AI
- Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomes
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
- Evaluates and grades students' class work and assignments
- Provides coaching to individual students as necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required qualifications education and experience/training:
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in the Information Technology industry
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
- Proven background in providing dynamic instruction with the ability to integrate industry, professional, and life experiences into a classroom learning environment in either large or small groups

Preferred qualifications education and experience/training:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field

- C# (.NET)
- Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
- ASP.NET

Physical demands/working conditions:
- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment.
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Special note:
Pooled position
This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following set rate of pay: $35.00/hour.
If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.
