Position: Travel PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Westlake, Ohio

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour nights (PM shift)
• Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• 13-week assignment

Stepdown nurses in this setting care for a wide range of cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients, including those post-cardiac procedures and device placements. The unit is well supported with ancillary staff and equipped with advanced medical technologies. Nurses are also integral in providing multi-system patient management and education for patients and families.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license (in Ohio or compact)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in stepdown or similar acute care
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Successful completion of a Dysrhythmia Exam (study guide provided)
• Proficiency in handling lines, drains, devices, and cardiac drips listed above
• Strong EPIC documentation skills preferred
• Ability to work with adult and geriatric populations

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive and ongoing patient assessments
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate individualized care plans
• Administer cardiac and other high-risk IV infusions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for care coordination
• Educate patients and their families to promote optimal health outcomes
• Adhere to safety protocols and universal infection control practices
• Accurately document in electronic health records
