Outdoor Test Specialist

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking an Outdoor Test Specialist to join our Testing Services team in Homestead, FL
. Reporting to the Field and Facilities Manager, this role will personally service weathering tests determined to be Special Projects. Tests with fast turnaround, special specimen mounting, and tests requiring special measurements (temperature, RH, etc.) are defined as “Special.” This requires a diverse skillset, with the technician being a master in technical communication with customers, test setup, scheduling and mounting as well as services and evaluations.

With this diversity, the Outdoor Test Specialist is capable of supporting any department, back filling as the workload demands.

• Inspect customer requests and match with our available services
• Consult with clients to clarify test information, resolving any concerns
• Check outdoor test requirements against standards and rectify disagreements
• Generate custom report templates
• Mount and expose new tests
• Expedite services to ensure minimal downtime for tests off exposure
• Oversee data collection and monitoring of logged data (e.g. temp, RH, etc.)
• Document services performed and provide billing sheets, as needed
• Collaborate with AZ and OH staff on specialty test setup and documentation
• Participate in field checks to maintain exposures correctly
• Maintain outdoor equipment and structures, as needed
• Perform in-house calibrations on weather station equipment
• Maintain the site’s radiation log
• General assistance, as needed

• Skilled in the use of power tools
• Computer literacy and competency, especially in Excel
• Moderate to high computer skills
• Test experience following international standards
• Good color acuity and ability to discriminate visual defects
• Fluency in English, both written and conversational

• Accredited testing lab experience
