JALEX Medical is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Associate to support the continued growth of our Med Tech consulting firm. This role suits an early-career sales professional with 2–3 years of business development or sales experience who is eager to build relationships within the medical device industry.
You will identify new business opportunities, nurture prospective client relationships, and support the sales process from initial outreach through project handoff, working closely with our Commercial Director and Engineering team to deliver innovative solutions to Med Tech companies. This hybrid role allows remote flexibility with regular in-office collaboration at our Northeast Ohio headquarters; candidates must reside in the Northeast Ohio area.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the medical device and healthcare industries
- Conduct outbound prospecting via calls, email campaigns, networking, and Linked In
- Schedule and participate in introductory meetings with prospective clients
- Maintain and grow a healthy sales pipeline using CRM software
- Support proposal development and follow-up activities
Build and maintain strong client relationships with exceptional customer service - Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, and quality teams to communicate JALEX's capabilities
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies
- Meet or exceed established business development goals and KPIs
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–3 years of sales or business development experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software (Pipedrive, etc.)
- Must reside in the Northeast Ohio area
- Ability to travel periodically for client visits and conferences
- Medical device, healthcare, or life sciences sales experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and device development process
- Experience selling technical, engineering, or consulting services
- Existing network within the Med Tech industry
