Job Description

We are seeking detail-oriented and knowledgeable Fence Estimators to prepare accurate cost estimates for both residential and commercial fencing projects. This role involves evaluating project requirements, conducting site assessments, preparing bids, and working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure competitive and profitable proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and client requirements for residential and commercial fencing projects
  • Conduct onsite evaluations to assess terrain, measurements, access points, and potential challenges
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Create materials lists
  • Generate and submit professional bids and proposals within deadlines
  • Communicate with clients to clarify scope, provide recommendations, and answer questions
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and installation crews to ensure accurate project handoff
  • Source and price materials such as wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminum, and specialty fencing systems
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
  • Track and manage bid results, costs, and project data for future forecasting
  • Ensure all estimates comply with local codes, zoning regulations, and company standards
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in construction estimating, preferably in fencing or related trades
  • Strong understanding of residential and commercial fencing materials and installation methods
  • Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and construction documents (preferred)
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
