Construction Operations Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Position SummaryServpro is seeking an experienced Construction Operations Manager to lead and grow our reconstruction division. This individual will oversee residential and commercial reconstruction projects from estimate through completion while driving operational excellence across the department.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in residential construction, roofing, insurance restoration, and project management. They are an organized leader who can build relationships with customers, insurance partners, subcontractors, and internal teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both field leadership and operational management and is excited to help grow a fast-paced construction division.
Key Responsibilities Operations Leadership- Oversee day-to-day operations of the reconstruction division.
- Improve systems, processes, and workflow efficiency.
- Monitor job profitability, production schedules, and project timelines.
- Ensure projects meet company quality standards and gross margin goals.
- Develop and implement operational best practices.
- Manage reconstruction projects from start to finish.
- Conduct site visits and customer meetings.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews.
- Maintain project schedules and communicate updates with customers.
- Review change orders and ensure accurate project documentation.
- Resolve project issues quickly and professionally.
- Evaluate roofing and exterior damage.
- Develop scopes of work for roofing projects.
- Meet with insurance adjusters when necessary.
- Coordinate roofing subcontractors and ensure quality installations.
- Identify opportunities to grow the roofing portion of the business.
- Manage project budgets and profitability.
- Review estimates and supplements for accuracy.
- Monitor labor, material, and subcontractor costs.
- Help achieve department revenue and gross profit goals.
- Support and mentor Project Managers and field staff.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors.
- Promote accountability, communication, and teamwork.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management as needed.
- 7+ years of construction project management experience.
- Roofing experience strongly preferred.
- Insurance restoration experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to read plans, scopes, and estimates.
- Experience working with insurance carriers and adjusters.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Xactimate experience.
- Experience with Servpro or another restoration contractor.
- General contractor or builder experience.
- Knowledge of water, fire, and storm restoration.
- Experience improving operational processes and leading teams.

- Reduce project cycle times.
- Develop strong subcontractor relationships.
- Improve operational efficiency across the reconstruction division.
- Help grow reconstruction and roofing revenue.
- Competitive salary: $95,000–$110,000 (based on experience)

Pay: $95,000.00 - $ per year
