This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive inpatient mental health team in Westland, MI, where you can focus on impactful care without the pressures of on-call responsibilities or holiday shifts.

As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will work with pediatric patients in a structured inpatient setting, delivering high-quality psychiatric care and playing a key role in treatment planning, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Location:

Westland, MISetting:
Inpatient psychiatric hospital (civil)
Caseload:
Approx. 1418 patients per shift

Facility Type:
Mental health hospital (bed/unit details TBD)
Conduct initial psychiatric assessments and ongoing evaluations

Manage and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically indicated

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans

Document all assessments, treatment plans, and progress in the EMR system

Lead and participate in treatment planning and case review meetings

Supervise and support residents, students, and treatment team members

Participate in discharge planning and, when required, provide court testimony

Contribute to quality improvement and peer review initiatives

MD or DO from an accredited institution

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (Child & Adolescent specialization required)
Minimum 1 year experience working with pediatric psychiatric patients in an inpatient, correctional, or clinic setting

Active Michigan medical license, DEA license, and Michigan Controlled Substance License Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills

Ability to lead in a team-based care model
