Overview
Elementary Physical Education Teacher - Long Term Substitute / Edustaff for Stoney Creek Elementary School (Comstock Park, MI). Position runs from 8/31/26 to 9/30/26 and may involve assignment to Stoney Creek Elementary and Pine Island Elementary schools.
Responsibilities- Teaches district-approved curriculum.
- Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Prepares for classes and provides a safe and engaging learning experience.
- Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media appropriate to the location and student needs.
- Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
- Assists administration in implementing policies and rules; maintains fair and orderly classroom behavior.
- Assesses student progress regularly and provides required progress reports.
- Maintains accurate records as required by policy and administrative regulations.
- Maintains open communication with students and parents regarding education-related matters.
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
Four-year degree in the area of major study.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Michigan Teaching Certificate in the area of study required.

Ability to apply current research and theory to instructional programs; ability to plan and implement lessons aligned to district and school objectives; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents; strong oral and written communication; ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
Physical DemandsStand and talk or hear for extended periods; frequent walking; may lift up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision and focus adjustment.
