Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Brandon Elementary as a full-time 2nd Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of young learners. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality instruction and support to help students achieve their academic goals while promoting a love for learning.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through formal and informal assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Foster a strong classroom community by promoting social skills, conflict resolution, and positive behavior.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to enhance the educational experience and support student success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and teaching methodologies.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
• Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives and participate in school events and activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification for elementary education in the state.
• Previous experience teaching 2nd grade or in an elementary school setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching strategies for young learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs of students.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
