Teaching Responsibilities

Teach courses in Computer Network Security based on instructor's qualifications. Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments will vary from semester to semester and are based on enrollment, so there may be semesters where no assignments are available.

Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.

Prepare and deliver instructional materials (syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.

Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.

Compile, administer, and grade examinations.

Participate in required reporting processes (grades, participation, etc.).

Assist students in connecting to college resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology field and at least one of the following:

  • Industry related certifications in specific area(s) taught.
  • 1 year of full-time experience in cyber security or networking (documentation required).

OR

Bachelor's degree or higher in an unrelated field and both of the following:

  • Industry related certifications in specific area(s) taught.
  • 1 year of full-time experience in cyber security or networking (documentation required).

OR

Bachelor's degree or higher in any field and 18 graduate credits in Information Technology.

Employment Terms

Adjunct instructors are part-time and not employed directly by Jackson College, except for those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. All others are employed by EDUStaff, LLC. Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
