Salary:
Per Master Agreement with Breckenridge Education Association
1. Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a major endorsement in Cognitive Impairment (SA) K-12 and/or Learning Disabilities (SM) K-12, and/or Emotionally Impaired (SE).
2. Must meet highly qualified standards for Special Education.
3. Must demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work well with staff, parents, and students.
4. Must satisfactorily pass the following:
Criminal Background Check, Unprofessional Conduct Background Check, Personal and Business references background check.
5. Demonstrated successful teaching experience.
6. Positive, passionate attitude towards supporting youth and their families.
7. Versatile technology skills.
8. Previous experience with curriculum development and differentiated lesson planning.
9. Ability to develop rapport with students and families.
10. Commitment to lifelong learning as evident through professional development history.
- Fostering relationships and leveraging knowledge to create a rigorous learning environment.
- Creating highly effective, engaging lesson plans to promote learning.
- Conducting daily instruction to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Demonstrating a thorough understanding of engagement and classroom management.
- Building strong relationships with staff, youth, and their families.
- Communicate and collaborate with ancillary service providers, teachers, and parents.
- Modify and accommodate lessons for individual students.
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and staff to design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Communicating regularly with teachers and parents to discuss a student’s progress.
- Assisting classroom teachers with individualized plans and tools so they can provide specific classroom instruction.
- Designing tools, strategies and activities to help students learn.
- Develop and implement behavior plans to support positive behavior outcomes for students.
