Specialized Early Learning Teacher

Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Teacher – Early Intervention, Birth to Age Three to provide specialized early intervention services and educational support to young children with developmental and learning needs. The teacher will develop and deliver individualized instruction designed to support children's academic, developmental, behavioral, social, communication, and functional needs.
This is a long-term contract position with the potential to continue year after year, providing stability and continued work within an early childhood and educational environment.
Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction and early intervention services to children from birth to age three
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies based on each child's developmental needs
- Follow and implement individualized educational and developmental goals
- Adapt activities, curriculum, and instructional materials to support individual learning and developmental needs
- Monitor and document children's academic, developmental, behavioral, social, communication, and functional progress
- Support early development of communication, motor, social, cognitive, and independent living skills
- Create a safe, structured, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Implement appropriate instructional and behavioral strategies
- Collaborate with families, special education staff, therapists, administrators, and other support personnel
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and educational needs
- Maintain accurate student records and required special education documentation
- Participate in individualized planning meetings and other student support meetings as required
- Provide individualized support based on each child's abilities and developmental needs
- Encourage participation, independence, development, and growth
- Follow school policies, procedures, and applicable special education and early childhood requirements
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate certification in Special Education and Early Childhood (ZA or ZS)
- T2EA certification accepted
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, and young children preferred
- Experience with early intervention or early childhood special education preferred
- Knowledge of special education and early childhood instructional strategies
- Understanding of individualized educational and developmental goals
- Ability to modify activities and instructional materials based on children's developmental needs
- Ability to support cognitive, communication, behavioral, social, motor, and functional development
- Classroom management and organizational skills
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with children, families, teachers, therapists, and administrators
- Patient, flexible, and child-focused approach
- Ability to create a safe, structured, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
