POSITION TITLEAdult Education Teacher Mentor
For the Adult Education Program in East Tawas, MI, located at the Michigan Works! East Tawas, Iosco County Jail, and surrounding 8 counties that we serve. These locations serve adult learners in person and virtually using textbooks and our online learning platform. Most time will be spent in Iosco, Ogemaw, and Alcona counties.
VACANCIESOne full time position, 32-40 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate. We will also consider a non-certified applicant with a bachelor’s degree who is willing to pursue teacher certification.
Experience:
Prefer experience working with and/or knowledge of Adult Education Programs.
- Provide and supervise the instruction of students assigned.
- Communicate regularly with Adult Education participants.
- Keep appropriate records and follow required district procedures.
- Keep up to date professionally.
- Knowledge of educational software, preferred.
- Excellent skills in communication & inter-personal relations
- Compassion for adult learners with many barriers.
