Position SummaryThe Jr Engineer is responsible for all aspects of document management for prints and electronic files, including storage, shipping, and final documentation.
Primary Responsibilities- Review shop prints and makes necessary changes as noted on prints.
- Prepare updated engineering prints for shipping.
- Prepare final engineering document package to go to customer, including CAD specifications and shop updates.
- Confirm contents of shop print package. Replace any missing information, put back in order before moving to archive.
- Maintain printing and file storage area.
- Run prints for engineering releases, estimating or sales.
- Support Engineering, off-site engineering personnel and other internal departments as needed.
- Interact with Shipping and Sales to resolve document issues.
- Maintain log of documents that have been received and shipped.
- Employees may perform other duties as assigned
- Current engineering student or a two (2) year technical degree.
Skills and Abilities
- Blueprint reading
- Understand mechanical drawings
- Detail oriented and able to multi task
- Good interpersonal skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in Autodesk programs 2D mechanical and 3D inventor Ver
2020 - Basic knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of mechanical and controls drawing standards (Ford, GM and Chrysler) preferred.
- PLM knowledge preferred
- Strong organizational skills
Working Conditions:
Office - Physical Demands:
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently carries prints weighing 25 pounds up and down stairs. Working for extended periods of time at a computer work station.
