Position/Type: Other, part time
Salary: $20.00/hr.
Experience accompanying both vocal ensembles and soloists
SCHEDULE:Average weekly schedule:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 2 hours per day
Concert weeks:
Monday-Friday – 2 hours per day, plus dress rehearsal and performance.
To collaborate with and assist the choral director as necessary and accompany whole group rehearsals, sectionals, and performances. Performances include concerts, choral festival, solo & ensemble, and fundraising events. Expectations:
- Accompany and play parts for two ensembles
- Play music of varied styles and types, including but not limited to the following: classical, light opera, musical theater, jazz, rock, and current popular music
- Read and play single and multiple vocal parts in the creative process
- Ability to follow a conductor
- Sight read and learn music for multiple ensembles and soloists quickly
- Accept and implement artistic direction of the vocal music director and other colleagues in the creative process in a professional and collaborative manner
- Exhibit professional and stage etiquette to serve as a model of professionalism at all musical productions
- Exhibit positive, professional communication skills and appearance with students, staff, parents and community
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
