Is What You’ll Do
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain the highest production standards.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and a positive donor experience in line with company values.
  • Keep the work area clean and professional.
  • Review and confirm donor identification and maintain confidentiality per SOP.
  • Set up and prepare equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
  • Label all units and samples accurately.
  • Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms, handle donor adverse events, and document exceptions.
  • Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and product quality.
  • Maintain proper donor‑to‑product ratios.
  • Disconnect donors, dispose of biohazard waste, clean spills, and follow proper disposition procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration and maintenance of automated plasmapheresis machines; remove or replace equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including machine logs.
  • Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management.
  • Maintain and replenish inventory on plasma carts.
  • Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform routine QCs on equipment.
  • Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
This Is What It Takes
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • State‑required certification or licensing.
  • Minimum three (3) months of experience in a medical or health‑care setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completed training documentation prior to performing duties independently.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Accurate and complete documentation ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort, flexibility).
  • Availability to work day, evening, weekend, holiday, and extended shifts.
  • Ability to perform venipuncture.
  • Effective communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, tug, or pull up to thirty‑five (35) pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.
  • Ability to use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
  • Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18 inches from the face for extended periods.
  • Work up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of minus forty (−40) °C as per SOP.
  • Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills (e.g., drawing blood).
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
