UP Health System – Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, invites an Observation RN to join our team. You will work in a fast‑paced Emergency Department combined with the clinical depth of inpatient care. In our Observation Unit you will monitor patients, support timely clinical decisions, and help guide them safely to the next step in their care—whether admission or discharge.

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care delivered.
• Works closely with providers to ensure patients meet observation criteria and monitors them for 24–48 hours to determine admission or discharge.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides appropriate education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – preferred.
