US Farathane is seeking an experienced Quality Auditor on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for supporting the Quality System, including auditing in-process product per instructions, as well as all associated documentation and performing the duties of Receiving and Dock and Seatback areas auditing as needed.
US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPEs and TPOs as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Complete all necessary documentation including tags and labels per the TS 164949, within expected or given time periods.
- Perform First Piece Inspection and Last Piece Inspection of product to determine compliance to customer requirements.
- Maintain variable charts per blueprint and/or customer requirements.
- Assist in sort operations as needed.
- Immediately report all discrepancies to Quality Supervisor, Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager.
- Informally monitor quality system to cell/areas concerning labels, documentation, lot numbers, first piece samples for procedural adherence.
- Performs all other duties as requested by the Quality Supervisor, Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager.
- Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates and supervision whenever necessary, including shift crossover.
- Participate in team problem solving activities (i.e.: 8D’s, communication meetings, etc.).
- Responsible for following internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e.: Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.).
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
- Knowledge of critical areas/features on product and ability to use quality tools to validate production requirements (i.e. Calipers, gages, check fixtures, X-Rite, Moisture checking, McBeth light and Dial indicators, etc.) as required.
- Vacuum and wipe down exposed areas of machines and equipment during production hours and thoroughly clean same during non-production time.

- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence, and to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to do simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to add positive and negative numbers
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards, inspection techniques and simple measurement instrument usage
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Intermediate computer skills required, focusing on the use of Excel for completing inspection records
- Comply with of all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
- Assure that all Quality Alerts are being followed for any products being sorted
- Capable of performing Gage R&R and capability studies
