Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Substitute Social Worker at Haas Elementary. This role is essential in providing support and resources to students and their families, promoting social and emotional well‑being, and fostering a positive school environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to helping students navigate challenges and will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Assess students' needs and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a supportive educational environment.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school personnel.
- Identify and connect families with community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and services provided.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Educate students and families on social‑emotional learning and coping strategies.
- Substitute for regular social worker duties as needed, ensuring continuity of care and support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid social work license or certification as required by state regulations.
- Experience working with children and families in an educational or community setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.
- Knowledge of community resources and support services available to families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice in social work.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
