About the role:

Are you a dedicated, experienced youth worker seeking a fulfilling opportunity to guide and support teenage boys? Are you looking for weekend work and want to be a vital part of a team committed to improving our community?

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Youth Specialist to join our team at a Youth Residential Program
in Romulus, MI
. We have full-time and part-time opportunities in a role essential to providing direct support, guidance, and security to youth in a supportive, structured residential environment.

As a Youth Specialist, you will be a key role model and source of support for teenage boys residing in the program. We are looking to fill full-time and part-time positions on day and afternoon shifts on weekends. Candidates should have weekend availability.

Services we provide

Spectrum Child and Family Services supports our community’s children and teens who are delinquent, have been neglected/abused or abandoned, are medically fragile, have multiple physical challenges, and may be dually diagnosed, or may display behavioral or emotional issues. Our programs support a population with constantly changing needs, and our goal is to strengthen and empower the families so they become self-sufficient, stable, and competent.

Qualifications
  • Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Transportation :
    Reliable, ongoing transportation is essential, as you must provide transportation for the youth.
  • Michigan Driver's License: Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Clearances :
    Satisfactory results on an MDHS Central Registry Clearance and State Police Record Check.
  • Health :
    Satisfactory physical exam within one year of hire and a negative TB test
