Adapted Physical Education Specialist

Teaches physical education to special education students; i.e., physically handicapped, learning handicapped, communicatively handicapped, orthopedically handicapped, severely handicapped, blind, and other handicapped.

Single Subject Physical Education Credential or Multiple Subject Credential with an added Adapted Physical Education Authorization required.

• Certification (CSET, MSAT, etc.)
• Copy of Transcript
• Credential Copy (Single Subject Physical Education Credential or Multiple Subject Credential with an added Adapted Physical Education Authorization required)
• English Learner Authorization (If notated on your credential please attach detailed copy of credential from the CTC, if not please submit appropriate documentation)
• Letter of Introduction (personal letter of introduction stating reasons for interest in the Westminster School District and your unique qualifications that make you the ideal candidate for the position)
• Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three signed letters dated within one year, one of which is from your current supervisor)
• Resume (Professional resume providing biographical background information about educational preparation, experience, and achievements)
• Test Results/Materials (CBEST)

The Adapted Physical Education (APE) Specialist Credential allows an individual to teach special needs students who are precluded from participating in a general education physical education program or a specially designed physical education program, as determined by the local-level special education assessment. The APE Specialist Credential is an add-on credential for the holder of a valid prerequisite credential.
