AMI Engineer
Job Overview:
Pay Range: $43.91hr - $48.91hr
The AMI Engineer will support the validation, testing, and deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI 2.0) metering solutions. The role involves working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure system interoperability, technical feasibility, and quality assurance of smart metering and grid technologies.
Requirement/Must Have:- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in metering systems, smart grid technologies, or related engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems.
- Experience in interoperability standards and testing methodologies.
- Experience working in lab environments and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
- Experience validating AMI 2.0 metering solution hardware and functionality.
- Experience collaborating with vendors on solution development and enhancements.
- Experience supporting troubleshooting and deployment of AMI technologies.
- Experience conducting system, integration, and hardware specification testing.
- Experience supporting field pilot programs and deployment readiness activities.
- Experience working with utility or smart grid systems preferred.
- Support validation of AMI 2.0 metering hardware and system functionality.
- Collaborate with vendors on metering solution development and improvements.
- Support troubleshooting of AMI 2.0 deployment and field issues.
- Conduct functionality, hardware, and integration testing of metering solutions.
- Support grid management application testing and validation activities.
- Assist in troubleshooting customer applications and field tools.
- Support field pilot programs and deployment readiness initiatives.
- Develop procedures and job aids for field technicians and meter operations teams.
- Coordinate change management activities with stakeholders during pre-deployment.
- Familiarity with utility operations and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience supporting field deployment and technician operations.
- Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and IT integration.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems.
- Smart grid technologies and utilities engineering.

Education:
