LA Float Pool Certified Nursing Assistant CNA Night

Scion Health Float pool supports our LA, San Gabriel, South Bay, Baldwin Park & Paramount Hospitals.

Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area. Supports patients with activities of daily living, personal care, emotional support, and performs clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel.

• Consults with and keeps supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care such as positioning the patient, lifting, turning, utilizing special equipment, assisting with bedpan, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient, pre‑operative and post‑operative care, application of binder or anti‑embolism stockings, bed bath, oral/hair/back care, changing bed linens, cleaning over bed table, bedside stand, straightening patient room, and other general care during the shift.
• Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake and output measurements accurately. Documents in a timely manner.
• Prepares patient room and bed for admission and transfer and ensures all necessary equipment is in room. Maintains an attractive and comfortable environment.
• Assists in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Handles and cares for patient belongings and personal property.
• Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system and responds appropriately.
• Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, performs routine treatment procedures such as enemas and application of appliances for heat and cold.
• Releases, removes, and reapplies restraints to patient under the direction of an RN, ensuring proper position and alignment.
• Assists the Registered Nurse and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures.
• Serves and removes patient meal tray in a timely manner and assists with feeding or preparing items such as opening milk containers or cutting food for patient.

• Read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Demonstrate good and regular attendance.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities, and function under stressful situations.
• Maintain good working relationships within the department and with other departments.

$23.00 per hour + $6 per hour to work float pool.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. (Preferred)

• CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of practice upon hire (Required).
• BCLS – Basic Life Support (AHA or Red Cross) within facility‑specified time frame (Required).

• 6 months in an acute care or long‑term care facility (Preferred).
