Salary – $150,000 to $180,000, based on experience & location

This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence financial strategy, strengthen infrastructure, and partner closely with executive leadership as the organization continues to scale
The organization has experienced significant growth, with annual funding recently doubling and continued growth anticipated
This role offers broad ownership across finance, accounting, grants, compliance, and operations while leading and developing a Senior Accountant
Remote opportunity for candidates based in the continental United States, with a preference for those able to align with Eastern Time business hours

Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial reporting, and long-term planning while providing actionable insights to executive leadership and the Board
Oversee nonprofit accounting, internal controls, month-end and year-end close, annual audits, Form 990 preparation, grant accounting, restricted funds, and regulatory compliance
Manage financial operations related to grants and contracts, including proposal budgets, donor restrictions, reporting requirements, and collaboration with program and development teams
Supervise and mentor the Senior Accountant while continuously improving financial processes, systems, workflows, and controls
Partner with leadership on broader operations, including payroll, benefits, technology, insurance, legal and regulatory matters, vendor management, organizational policies, and risk management
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
CPA, MBA, or other advanced accounting or finance credentials considered a plus
10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with demonstrated nonprofit finance exposure
Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, audits, internal controls, financial reporting, budgeting, grant accounting, and regulatory filings, with experience managing meaningful organizational budgets
Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop staff, communicate financial information clearly to executive and Board-level audiences, and operate effectively in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
Experience overseeing nonprofit operations, including payroll, benefits administration, technology, insurance, legal and regulatory compliance, vendor management, and organizational policies
