Entry-Level Project Transportation Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts. In order to be successful, this candidate should feel comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills, and appropriately prioritizing those tasks’ completion.

• Field operations, managing staff, subcontractors, and other on-site personnel.
• Conducting site visits, scheduling, submittals, daily reports, and As‑builts.
• Layouts, and control points.
• Quality Control, inspections, and materials testing inspections.
• Always Ensuring on-site efficiency and safety.
• Implement a safety program.
• Estimating costs and preparing contracts.
• Meeting with clients and subcontractors.
• Monitoring expenditure and drafting progress reports.
• Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and evaluating environmental impact.
• Procore responsibilities:
  • Responsibility to keep project information up to date and current for the duration of all projects in Procore.
  • Manage and input all RFI’s, RFP’s, and Bulletins from start to finish so all questions have been answered.
  • Drawings, Job Set Up Specifications, Submittals, RFI’s & RFP, Documents.

• Proven experience as a Level Project Engineer similar role for 3+ months.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Pro Core, Prolog, Bluebeam, or Primavera.
• Familiarity with all Microsoft Office programs and bidding software a plus.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• 0+ years of experience in the Civil Construction industry.
• Excellent leadership skills, strong communicator, and a “take ownership” attitude.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of time throughout Colorado.
• Experience with construction management software such as PROCORE, and Bluebeam is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
• At least 3 months of experience in a field-related role in transportation, concrete construction, or heavy civil construction.
• Internship in heavy civil construction or road and highway.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills backed by solid technical knowledge.
• A versatile and service‑oriented mindset.
• Good understanding of safety guidelines.
• Technically savvy and computer literate.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to work flexibly and willingness to work extensively to meet business needs.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record (required).
• High level of attention to detail, initiative, problem‑solving, personal organization, and leadership skills.

• Ability to meet contract objectives on time and within budget.
• Experience:
  • Construction: 3 months+ preferred in Roadway, Highway or Heavy Civil.
  • General Roadway, Highway, or Heavy Civil for 3 months plus.
• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered.

• Pay: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

• Work Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Employees may be subject to evening, weekend, holiday, or on‑call emergency shifts.
  • Work hours primarily involve 8-hour shifts during weekdays.
  • Approximately 90% performed in the field.
  • Must always maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on the job site.
