REQUIREMENTS- Current valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Experience in PE instruction preferred
- Experience in differentiating instruction, and supporting students with learning challenges
- Knowledge of the Colorado Student Standards
- Must complete a fingerprint/background check

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches a specialty curriculum physical education to students in a classroom, using approved curriculum.
- Develops lesson plans, instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Engages in professional development and implements strategies that support school-wide instructional initiative.
- Gathering student data through observation, dialogue, testing tools, etc., and designing strategies to meet student needs.
- Supporting student learning through thoughtful planning and preparation and sound classroom management practices.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Treat students with respect and dignity.
- Establish rapport with students and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly environment conducive to learning.
- Maintaining updated grade books, tracking the data, drafting report cards.
- Effectively communicates with school administrators, teachers, student service personnel, parents regarding student performance and plans for improvement in a positive and professional manner.
- Participating in professional development and building level staff meetings per direction of the building principal.
- Actively participate in full implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
- Assisting in orientation and open houses as needed.
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Teaches small group intervention in reading and math.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Work primarily takes place in a school setting, with occasional off-site meetings, trainings, or events.
- May require some evening or weekend hours to accommodate school events, meetings, or activities.
