Responsibilities
  • Relationship with Students & Families
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents.
    • Guide students in developing healthy relationships with God, self, others, and learning.
    • Lead by example in cultivating an atmosphere of peace, respect, and academic curiosity.
    • Engage in parent-teacher communication through conferences, progress reports, and discussions about student growth.
  • Relationship with Atmosphere
    • Ensure the safety, welfare, and holistic development of students.
    • Maintain a well-ordered, engaging, and peaceful classroom environment in accordance with Ambleside standards.
    • Foster a classroom culture free from commercialism, competition, rewards-based motivation, and punitive discipline.
  • Relationship with Knowledge & Work
    • Model a love for learning in all subjects and promote intellectual curiosity.
    • Integrate Biblical principles and a Christian worldview into the learning experience.
    • Faithfully follow the school curriculum and Ambleside methodology, ensuring high standards of student work.
    • Prepare and execute lesson plans, pacing guides, and assessments.
    • Provide prompt, meaningful feedback on student work and track progress.
    • Participate in after-school tutoring, faculty meetings, and school-wide events.
  • Professional Responsibilities
    • Uphold all expectations outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    • Meet all deadlines for grades, reports, lesson plans, and administrative tasks.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities, including school and ASI teacher training.
    • Adhere to staff policies on attendance, work hours, and professional attire.
  • Work Hours & Expectations
    • School Year:
      August – May
    • Work Hours:

      7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday (except school holidays).
    • Occasional evenings for training and school events.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
    • Introductory knowledge of Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, including key essays such as "Three Instruments of Education" and "Children as 'Persons'".
    • Teaching experience (preferred but not required for certain positions).
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (provided by the school as needed).
    • Participation in ASI’s teacher training program (provided by the school; travel may be required).
    • Clear background check (state and federal level).
    • A cover letter expressing passion for Charlotte Mason education and faith-driven teaching.
    • A resume detailing education, teaching experience, and relevant skills.
    • A personal statement of faith, describing a spiritual journey and beliefs.
    • Three professional references, including one from a direct supervisor.
