Position Summary
The Extension Intern, 4-H Youth Development, Eagle County is responsible for assisting the 4-H Extension Staff in the organization and delivery of the Eagle County 4-H County Fair. Primary duties include aiding in the design and implementation of educational programs and working with adult and youth volunteers.
EssentialJob Duties
- Assist Eagle County 4-H staff with planning, coordination, and implementation of 4-H educational programs, activities, and events for livestock, horse, small animal, and general projects.
- Support Eagle County Fair operations including show clerking, event logistics, ribbon and supply distribution, judging support, fair setup and teardown, and assisting during livestock and non‑livestock events.
- Work professionally with 4-H youth, families, volunteers, judges, and community partners while serving as a positive role model and providing general program support as assigned by Extension staff.
- Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by the employment start date.
- The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the organization will not sponsor a visa for this position.
- At least 18 years old and not a current Eagle County 4-H member.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during Fair activities.
- Previous experience with 4-H, county fairs, livestock shows, youth programs, or event coordination.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
