JOB SUMMARY

Provide a developmentally appropriate Universal Preschool Program (UPK) in an inclusive classroom serving 3, 4, and 5‑year‑olds that may have a disability, may be typically developing or at risk for delays in learning and development. Collaborate with team members including early childhood teachers and assistants as well as special education related service providers to plan appropriate learning experiences and carry out ongoing child assessments in accordance with district and state requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, learning environments, and daily routines in collaboration with team members. Facilitate play‑based learning opportunities, use positive guidance strategies to minimize challenging behaviors, and apply Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines to inform program design and implementation.

Prepare learning materials, update learning centers, maintain classroom supplies, and keep a clean educational environment in accordance with state and regulatory agency standards.

Coordinate with team members to keep families informed about classroom news and important resources. Respond to family questions and concerns, and schedule and complete family conferences aligned with district and school protocols to share child progress while maintaining confidentiality.

Assist early childhood education administration with training, supervise and support early childhood teacher assistants and/or Preschool Site Aides, prioritize, schedule, and assign work, including support for high school ECE students in approved training programs.

Assist with all physical needs for students, including daily routines, safety monitoring inside and outdoors, toileting/diapering, specialized dietary requirements, meal service and clean‑up, and medical needs as delegated by the Preschool Registered Nurse.

Meet weekly with classroom teams to plan lessons, review child progress, and strengthen coordination of team dynamic. Participate in school‑level professional development and trainings.

Maintain up‑to‑date certification in district and state required areas and complete required early childhood education professional development activities.

Perform assigned duties pertaining to current and relevant programming models.

Perform other related job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proof of Early Childhood Teacher qualification consistent with Colorado Department of Early Childhood regulations.
Experience with preschool‑age children.
Experience with implementation of curriculum, lesson planning, and data collection.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Minimum age 18 years.
Provide Professional Development Information System (PDIS) credential.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS

Criminal background check required.
CPR and First Aid certifications within three months of starting.
Universal Precautions and Medication training within three months of starting.
Post‑offer physical examination prior to commencement of duties.
Post‑hire physical examination required yearly.
Interrater Reliability (IRR) training three times a year.
