Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher (Significant Support Needs Center-Based Program) to join an elementary school team for the school year in Westminster, Colorado. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of K‑5 students with significant support needs in a highly collaborative classroom environment.
What You’ll Do- Lead instruction for students with significant support needs
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Supervise and train 5‑6 paraprofessionals
- Collaborate with related service providers, families, and school staff
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, communication, and life skills development
- Valid Special Education Teaching License (or eligibility)
- Experience in IEP writing and implementation
- Strong background in special education teaching
- Ability to manage and lead paraprofessional teams
- Completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training within 90 days
- Prior experience in Significant Support Needs (SSN) classrooms
- Experience working with ELL/ESL students
- ESL endorsement or Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) certification
- Experience in center-based or self-contained special education settings
