Position Overview

Temporary Academic Advising and Support Coordinator – full‑time, five‑month assignment in Golden, Colorado, working primarily on campus.

Employment Details

Full‑time, five‑month temporary assignment. Assignment end date:
November 30, 2026.

Location:

Golden, Colorado (on campus).

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise students on course selection, academic planning, registration, and class schedule revisions.
  • Provide support for students transitioning to and navigating the college experience.
  • Conduct routine and targeted outreach regarding academic advising, campus policies, registration requirements, and student success initiatives.
  • Assist students with degree requirements, curriculum options, course sequencing, and academic policies.
  • Support students with diverse advising needs, including transfer credit interpretation, academic challenges, and developing personalized academic plans.
  • Maintain accurate advising records through the institution’s online platform.
  • Learn and utilize advising technologies and student success tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and campus partners to promote student success and retention initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential student information and accurate records.
  • Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn new student success and advising platforms.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, academic advising, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of student development principles and best practices in academic advising.
  • Experience providing advising, coaching, counseling, education, student services, or related support.
  • Experience supporting first‑year, transfer, or academically at‑risk students.
Salary and Benefits
  • Annual salary $58,000 – $62,000 (prorated for the duration of the assignment).
