This full-time opportunity extends throughout the 26/27 school year, focusing on children in grades 3-5. Your expertise in counseling will play a key role in shaping foundational social and emotional learning while helping students navigate academic and personal challenges.
KeySkills & Experience:
- Previous experience as a school counselor or equivalent counseling role
- Strong understanding of social and emotional learning best practices
- Background working with elementary-aged children, particularly grades 3-5
- Experience providing support for special education populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in a school environment
- Deliver direct counseling services for students in grades 3-5, individually and in groups
- Develop, implement, and lead social and emotional learning initiatives across classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to assess and address student needs
- Provide strategies and resources for students requiring additional special education support
- Support at-risk students, facilitate conflict resolution, and promote positive school climate
- Maintain thorough documentation of services, participating actively in meetings and parent conferences when needed
