ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Jeffco Schools participates in the School Health Services Program, better known as Medicaid, to request partial reimbursement for the health and health-related services for students with Health First Colorado (Medicaid) who have an IEP. This reimbursement derives from the services of our Jeffco district nurses, speech language pathologists, audiologists, mental health providers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, orientation/mobility specialists as well as para-educators who provide personal care services to these students.
Jeffco Public Schools' Certified Application Assistance Site (CAAS) operates through Jeffco Public Schools Community & Family Connections (CFC) program. CFC assists ANY individuals inquiring about Health First Colorado (Medicaid)/CHP+ and other health-related resources as well as Jeffco families living in transitional housing situations.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

REQUIREMENT

The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY:

Provide Hearing/Vision screening at scheduled school sites for students in preschool and grades kindergarten, 1,2,3,5,7 and 9.

  • Administer Hearing/Vision screening assessment to students as trained by the department.
  • Complete documentation pertaining to appropriate test.
  • Entering Hearing/Vision data for the Clinic Aid after the day's screenings are complete.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High School diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with children preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
