FLSA Status & Classification:
Full Time | Non-Exempt

Hiring Hourly Rate: $22.00 - $24.50 per hour;
Starting rate is based on relevant experience.

Position Summary

The After school & Camp Coordinator is responsible for organizing and leading out-of-school programs supported by Butterfly Pavilion, including day-camps, summer camps, and after school programs. Supporting a team of Environmental Educators, Summer Camp Educators, Volunteers, and Interns, this role provides day-to-day coordination, guidance, coaching, and feedback to support consistent program delivery.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities After-school Programs
  • Support the functions of after-school programming by acting as the program supervisor.
  • Develop after-school curricula and activities for diverse audiences in line with Butterfly Pavilion’s P&I Learning Framework.
  • Support increasing Butterfly Pavilion’s community reach by providing world-class after-school programming and identifying additional opportunities for after-school programs.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and staff after-school programs.
  • Acts as a liaison between after-school staff and Butterfly Pavilion.
  • Maintain schedules and program operations within the stated goals and objectives of specific programs.
  • Coordinate material purchases in line with the program budget, in communication with the Education Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Curatorial team to best include live animals in after-school programs, while accounting for animal welfare and being in line with all USDA and AZA requirements.
Camps
  • Lead all functions of out-of-school day camps and summer camp programming – administrative, implementation and logistics.
  • Develop all camp curriculum for out-of-school day camps and summer camps.
  • Develop, redesign, and implement innovative camp programs and activities that meet the needs of diverse audiences in line with Butterfly Pavilion’s P&I Learning Framework.
  • Support Camp Team in classroom and behavior management as needed.
  • Support in communicating with stakeholders including camp parents, interested community members, and other Butterfly Pavilion teams.
  • Support Education Manager in the creation and implementation of camp SOPs.
  • Coordinate with all camp staff and interns to adhere to Childcare Licensing.
