Qualifications &
Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (required)
- Prior high school special education teaching experience preferred
- Familiarity with developing, implementing, and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with students, parents, and educational staff
- Ability to adapt curriculum for learners with a variety of disabilities and learning styles
- Positive attitude, patience, and a true commitment to student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support for students in a high school special education setting
- Create and maintain IEPs in compliance with all state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to accommodate student needs in the classroom
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where every student feels encouraged and supported
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods accordingly
- Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student achievements and areas for improvement
