Work Schedule:
Standard 40-hour workweek with flexibility for extended hours, alternate shifts, and weekends (OT not mandatory) Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Technician IV to support test and development activities for complex hardware systems. This position involves hands‑on work with box‑level hardware, PWA testing, thermal/vacuum environments, GSE, troubleshooting, and execution of test procedures. Candidates should have strong technical documentation skills, a proactive learning mindset, and the ability to support test operations with minimal supervision.
Aerospace/defense industry experience is not required—candidates from any industry are welcome if their experience aligns with the technical needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform box‑level integration, vibration testing, thermal testing, TVAC testing, PWA testing, and post‑delivery activities.
- Conduct functional, performance, and environmental testing on flight and EDU hardware.
- Execute DMM continuity checks, Cirris testing, and test procedure setup and execution.
- Assemble PWA and box‑level hardware following IPC/WHMA‑A‑610 Space Addendum, J‑STD‑001, and related standards.
- Assemble test cables and ESTE/GSE equipment in accordance with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 Space Addendum.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues involving design, workmanship, or component-level failures.
- Perform rack configuration changes, connector mating/demating, and wiring checks.
- Record and evaluate test data; identify and report out‑of‑tolerance conditions.
- Use test software/scripts to operate as a test conductor, send commands, and monitor telemetry.
- Provide daily/weekly status updates including progress, blockers, and estimated timelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ESD, FOD, and tool control procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support a positive, productive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes (O‑scopes), DMMs, function generators, and power supplies.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, wire lists, and redline documentation.
- Experience testing PWAs and box‑level hardware.
- Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level.
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience handling flight hardware and following associated protocols.
- Familiarity with fabricating or reworking cables, chassis, racks, and test aids.
- Ability to operate test software and analyze telemetry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note).
- Ability to comply with all safety and hardware handling requirements.
- GSE certifications
- Experience with PWA, TVAC, and environmental testing
- Flight hardware experience
- Rack configuration and test setup experience
- Leadership capability and willingness to mentor/train others
- Ability to take on new responsibilities and learn quickly
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of related technical experience
- OR higher-level degrees (Bachelor’s/Master’s) may substitute for experience (2 years per degree).
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions at the expected grade level.
