Position Overview
CAD Senior Designer – Highridge Medical, a leader in innovative spinal solutions.
Responsibilities- Design new products from conception to launch and modify existing products while complying with procedures, standards, and Quality System Requirements.
- Meet critical project timelines.
- Design clinically driven solutions that anticipate surgical needs and transform concepts into commercialized implant and instrument systems.
- Design mating components and assemblies, applying advanced tolerance analysis.
- Generate CAD models and engineering drawings primarily within Solid Works.
- Design complex mechanisms and instrumentation, implementing advanced design principles.
- Ensure components are manufacturable, inspectable, and cost‑effective.
- Manage multiple projects throughout all stages of development.
- Collaborate with development, manufacturing, tool, and process engineers to create complex 3‑D surfaced or solid models of orthopedic implants, provisionals, and instrumentation.
- Mentor junior designers and travel occasionally as required.
- Innovative development of new designs.
- Ability to create patentable features and designs.
- Professional, concise, tactful, and effective communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations for technical and executive audiences.
- Advanced knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T.
- Advanced tolerance analysis capability.
- Ensuring product and process compliance with applicable Quality Assurance and Regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
- Priority management for multiple complex projects and deliverables.
- Expertise in CAD design and engineering drawings, preferably in Solid Works, emphasizing design for manufacturability and system integration.
- Rapid adaptation to new technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project for reporting and tracking project metrics.
- Two‑year technical degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in product design, ideally in orthopedic devices.
Up to 5% travel.
