Responsibilities
  • Lead the City’s traffic engineering and transportation planning efforts.
  • Oversee MUTCD compliance and traffic signal operations.
  • Manage multi‑modal planning and intelligent transportation systems.
  • Advance road safety and enhance pedestrian and multimodal connectivity.
  • Guide long‑range transportation vision through the Safety Action Plan and Transportation Master Plan.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET‑accredited institution; must be registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Traffic Operations Engineer in Colorado, or have ability to obtain license within six months of hire.
  • Five (5) years of progressive engineering experience in transportation planning and engineering.
  • Technical knowledge of traffic operations, traffic control, transportation networks, and civil engineering.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
